The latest snapshot from Mainstreet Research of a number of Ward races in Toronto shows close races emerging in Parkdale High Park (Ward 4), Spadina Fort York (Ward 10) and Scarborough Rouge Park (Ward 25). In each case, Mainstreet found competitive races between leading candidates in each case.
In Parkdale High Park a close race is emerging between Nadia Guerrera (35.2%) and Diana Chan McNally (29.2%) with Adam Pham (15.5%) rounding out the top three.
In Spadina Fort York, incumbent Ausma Malik (43.2%) leads the main challenger Ian Cunningham (35.8%) with Paul Nash rounding out the top three (9.2%).
In Scarborough Rouge Park, challenger Shawn Allen (37.7%) leads incumbent councillor Neethan Shan (28.5%) with Zakir Patel (12.9%) rounding out the top three.
“These snapshots of Toronto Wards carry a larger margin of error than what we normally see in larger polls and should be taken with caution” said Quito Maggi, President & CEO of Mainstreet Research. “What we can say is that these appear to be competitive with no overwhelming leaders” he added. “It appears that Toronto voters may be moving in a different direction, with incumbents facing challenging re-election efforts” he continued. “With primarily affordability and crime and safety driving voters in 2026, it appears voters may be looking for candidates focussed on hyper local issues and solutions” he concluded.
