The latest snapshot of BC from Mainstreet Research shows the continued dominance of Mark Carney among BC Voters. A majority of voter (51%) now say they would vote for Mark Carney if an election were held today. This would be the highest recorded number for the federal Liberal in BC in Mainstreet history.
Provincially, all BC Conservative candidates tested did better than in March 2026, but Milobar remains the only candidate capable of a majority. Yuri Fulmer (who we didn’t test in March) would almost achieve a majority jointly with OneBC. In that scenario, OneBC vote share increases (13%) and their seat count would be 4 with the Fulmer led BC Conservatives at 42.
“The landscape remains largely the same as in early March with the BC Conservative leadership race approaching the membership milestone” said Quito Maggi, President & CEO of Mainstreet Research. “All BC Conservative leaders did better than in early March, likely due to more media coverage of the contest” he added. “If Mark Carney had not already secured his majority Government earlier this week, he certainly would receive one today based on these record numbers in BC” He continued. “With most voters anxious about the economy and the anxiety caused by the sitting President, it’s clear BC voters want a steady economic hand at the wheel, being Carney and Milobar in this case” he concluded.
