December 12, 2017 (Ottawa, ON) – Mainstreet Research’s final poll of the Alabama Special Senate election race has been proven accurate.
Mainstreet’s Alabama poll is part of a series of polls conducted for CROSSOVER, a Canadian-American talk show launching in March.
“Our final poll showed Democrat Doug Jones leading Republican Roy Moore. The Alabama race was not an easy one to poll – many pollsters stayed away. Ultimately our final poll was proven to accurately capture the mood of the electorate of Alabama,” said Quito Maggi, President of Mainstreet Research.
Mainstreet Research has a long history of accurately predicting elections in Canada and more recently, the United States.
Mainstreet’s final poll showed Doug Jones at 49.6% and Roy Moore at 44.8%. With 96.3% of polls reporting Doug Jones has 49.5% and Roy Moore has 48.8%.
“There does appear to have been a shy voter effect with Moore voters,” continued Maggi. “But ultimately it was not enough to turn the tide.”
“We are looking forward to future American projects that are scheduled to take place throughout the midterm elections,” he finished.
